The true and sustainable happiness comes from within not from outside. July 2nd Geshe Jamba Choeden will turn the wheel of dharma on Buddha's text of Prajñāpāramitā. The text addresses the root of all suffering, the delusion that "I" exist automatically. And the opposite of auto-existence is emptiness and interdependence. The realization of emptiness is the direct antidote of self cherish and self grasping that causes our unhappiness and sufferings. lecture 4 RENUNCIATION: the liberation from suffering

July 9th The lecture focuses on the law of cause and effect or karma and effect. Geshe Jamba Choeden will give profound insight on how karma is generated, accumulated, and fruits; how to generate positive karmas that brings happiness and how to avoid generating negative karmas that brings suffering. July 16th Geshe Jamba Choeden will teach two main minding training techniques. The goal is to generate an altruism mind, the mind of bodhicitta. the techniques help us to let go our self interest while maintain the interests of other's well being. July 23rd The single point mind training teaches us the techniques that we use to focus the mind, identify distractions, understand the source of distractions, apply antidotes when distractions rises, and understand the correct results when single point meditation is successful. Once the mind can focus and is free from distraction, it can start to learn and observe the truth of all phenomenon that demands a great concentration and effort from the mind. The emptiness includes two aspects: “I” does not automatically exist and all phenomenons are lack of self existence. This concise text outlines the Path to Enlightenment in a straight-forward and easily understandable format. Each class, we will read a portion of the text as our teacher, Geshe Jampa will offer insight and explanation to each topic covered. We will be able to apply the tools we learn in class to our daily life, which will help us heal and find peace and happiness throughout our lives, especially in moments of suffering.
